App: Compressly · Effective date: August 12, 2026 · Last updated: August 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Compressly ("Compressly", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the Compressly mobile application (the "App"), a tool for compressing videos and photos.
When you select a photo or video, the App reads and processes that media locally on your device to perform compression. We do not upload the contents of those media files to our servers for compression. Compressed results are saved to your device or to a destination you choose.
Compressly does not require you to create a Compressly account to perform on-device media compression. We do not need your name, phone number, contacts, or precise location for the core compression function.
The iOS version of Compressly uses Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. These services may process limited technical and usage information such as app version, operating-system version, device type, language or region, feature-usage events, crash information, diagnostic information, and performance information. We use this information to understand how the App is used, diagnose problems, improve stability, and improve the App.
If you purchase a subscription or other in-app product through the App Store, Apple processes your payment information. Compressly may receive transaction, product, entitlement, subscription-status, or receipt-related information needed to verify and provide purchased features. We do not receive your full payment-card details from Apple.
You can manage permissions in iOS Settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from working.
The App may include advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting services. If such services are enabled, their handling of data is governed by their own privacy practices and by applicable platform requirements. The exact SDKs and data categories used by the released iOS build must match the disclosures shown in App Store Connect.
Where iOS permission is legally or technically required for tracking across apps or websites, the App will request permission through Apple's AppTrackingTransparency framework before performing such tracking.
The iOS version of Compressly may rely on third-party services for functions such as App Store purchases, analytics, crash reporting, or advertising. Apple may independently process information when you use App Store services. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
We do not sell your photos or videos. We may share limited information only:
Your media files are not stored on our servers for compression. Other limited technical, purchase, or service data, if collected, is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required by law.
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information handled by the App and our services. No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
The App is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information. You may contact us using the email below to exercise applicable rights.
If an identifier or service record cannot reasonably be linked to you without additional information, we may ask you to provide information needed to locate the relevant record.
If information is processed outside your country or region, we use safeguards required by applicable law where relevant.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date when changes are made and provide additional notice where required.
